Ryzen 5 5600G paired with Asus Prime B450-plus, lacking video output options
Hi everyone. My friend is facing an issue. She needs to purchase and set up a new PC with a Ryzen 5 5600G and an Asus Prime B450+ motherboard. She realized she must update the BIOS to be compatible, but the packaging had a sticker stating the board already has BIOS 3802 installed. After putting everything together, she tried booting but saw no video output. All fans were spinning, the LEDs worked, yet there was nothing displayed. She tested using an HDMI port and connected two separate GPUs, but still got no output. She’s tried clearing CMOS, changing RAM, etc. Any suggestions? Does she need to replace the Ryzen or check if her BIOS is truly updated? She has the following components: CPU – Ryzen 5 5600G, Motherboard – Asus Prime B450-Plus, RAM – Corsair Venegence 2x8GB at 3200MHz, GPU – Radeon RX 6600.
The ASUS site mentions 3802 isn't the newest BIOS (updated May 2022). The latest is 4202 (August 2023). The 5600G should work after its 2029 release. The delay isn’t due to a video output issue. How long did you wait for the video guide? Did you check your motherboard manual for basic fixes?
