Ryzen 5 2600X running idle at 48°C to 50°C
Hi Guys, So recently i noticed that my Ryzen 2600x is idling at 47C - 50C. My Auto boost has been disabled hence core clocks are at 3.6 GHz. a few week ago i replaced the thermal paste (Noctua Nt-H1) and properly seated the cooler. PC Specs : AMD Ryzen 5 2600x AMD Stock Cooler MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC Zotac 1070ti Amp Edition Fractal Design Meshify C 2 Front intake Noctua 2000 iPPC 2 Exhaust (Rear & Top) Fractal Design Stock Case Fan I ran Cinebench R20 and the temps maxed at 78C While playing GTA 4 the Temps reached 61C & While Playing AC Odyssey it reached 67C HWinfo temps in Idle are : System 40C / VR MOS 44C / PCH 42C / CPU (PECI) 40 C / CPU (tctl/tdie) 47C / CPU Die (avg) 47C Ryzen Master Temp Matches HWinfo Temps Temps when in BIOS is 42C Power Plan is set to Windows Balance I have removed the front foam mesh from the case has it accumulated lot of dust chocking airflow. I initially had air filters on the intake fans which I got rid of since Summer has started and it is getting hot. Based on Google my Area has a Temp of 33C & based on a Room Temperature App my Room Temp is 29C I think my Gaming Temps or even Cinebench temps are fine but the Idle Temp is what concerns me
Idle times aren't important if they stay below load times. Only load times really count; are your load times okay?
Given the current room temperature, those readings seem typical with the stock cooler. You might want to look into an aftermarket option later.
It seems you're feeling relaxed about your situation. To reduce idle time, simply change the fan settings in BIOS for better performance when the CPU isn't under heavy load—just choose what feels right for you.
I was thinking about Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition or the MA410M, though most people say it's fine, so I'll wait a bit.
