Ryzen 5 2600 clock speed details
Hi guys, I was just checking my temperature with Hwinfo and only looked at the CPU temperature. I noticed yesterday that my maximum CPU speed hit 5120 MHz (as shown in Hwinfo), sometimes it even reached 4300 MHz. It makes me worried because I never overclocked it—just don’t know if it’s safe, and I’m curious if the CPU overclocked itself automatically without me doing anything. Thanks for any advice. Also, note that I’m using a GammaX 400 v2 cooler, so the temperature stays under 70°C, and my motherboard is MSI Pro M2 Max B450M.
I believe you might have misread something here, could you share a screenshot of your Hwinfo readout? I’m pretty sure with the temperatures you’re fine… take a deep breath and don’t worry!! Ryzen can automatically boost to 3.9ghz, and if yours was at 5.1ghz then your motherboard and CPU would be hosting the family barbecue (unless you’re using liquid nitrogen for cooling). Your Hwinfo might be reading incorrectly—check Coretemp for confirmation. But your temperatures are normal, so nothing should be damaged.
so I've taken a screenshot while done playing game after 2-3 hours, and it reached out to 5.1 again.
did i read it wrong or else? here's the pict
