I realized just how incredibly naive Microsoft is today. Why would they include a balanced power plan on a desktop? I've used power plans before with my laptop, but never thought they'd be available for desktops. Still, switching to high performance made a big difference—though it drops to 3.1, which should get fixed with the next BIOS update. Thanks a lot, this really helped.

I know that's one of the main complaints about Windows right now. Switching to an Intel setup usually gets you High Performance by default, while AMD tends to default to Balanced. After updating your BIOS, make sure to install drivers from the AMD site instead of the motherboard site—they have a new power plan for RyZen, though I still use High Performance if I want it.

Updated BIOS is now at the latest version, quiet popped up, turned it off and it's holding 3.7 stable:

Even under light load, you can see this clearly.
The long post times also seem to have disappeared.
