Hey there, welcome to the forum! I'm just trying to figure out which motherboards work with your Ryzen 5 1400. I know it's an older chipset but it's what you have and you're using in a secondary build. You're wondering if the latest boards are compatible—like X470 or B450? Also, you want to use M.2 drives and want to know what the 1400 can support. That's a great question, especially since you're new to PC building! Let me know if you need more details.

You can opt for a more affordable model like the a320 if you're on a tighter budget, or consider the b350 and b450 for better upgrade potential with Ryzen 2000/3000, even reaching into the 4000 and 5000 range. I wouldn't suggest the x470 just because it's not perfect—it's a decent price but lacks strong value. Also, the Ryzen 5 1400 didn’t include an integrated GPU, so you’ll need a separate graphics card for display output.

b450s are basically the same price these days. no reason to buy 3000 series boards at this point

Thanks! Running a 1660ti before the price jump for my second PC is solid. I’ll stick with the TUF B450 since it’s a micro ATX build.
