I've been exploring recent developments in processors and graphics cards expected this year, since my partner's old PC needs an upgrade. I haven't come across any AMD X670 motherboards yet, but new generations typically arrive with updated boards. Have you heard about any upcoming AMD motherboard releases? I'm considering the ASUS RoG Crosshair VIII Hero with an AMD Ryzen 9 4950X, and I'm hoping it will be available soon. For gaming-focused upgrades, I'm mainly interested in premium components, though I'm uncertain if the R9 4950X will launch alongside the R9 3950X. Any helpful insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with an X series chipset from AMD unless you're really in need of a few extra pcie lanes, B550 will support the 4000 series with flying colors and has some great options in the low and high end. Why bother with a 16 core (presumably) part that you're not likely to use? If you're only going to be gaming and/or streaming, an 8 core cpu will work great for your needs along with a $150-$200 board.

I don't agree with this stance. Check the forum for more issues involving B450 + 3600X users compared to other models. Rarely encounter X570 + 3600X problems. No firmware update needed. I’d be patient with X670 (perhaps B650?) and observe the pricing. Your perspective is appreciated.

I agree b450 faces some challenges with Ryzen 3000 processors. I've handled a few setups myself and am preparing another soon. Previously, I've only seen these problems on boards where the maker didn<|pad|>'s not properly adjust for compatibility—like the MAX boards I've worked with, which performed flawlessly, while asrock's BIOS choices have caused headaches with older Windows versions. B550 appears to be improving, and manufacturers now focus on a single architecture BIOS instead of juggling two very different ones on one chipset.
