Hey everyone, I'm gathering a list of components for a new PC tailored for video editing, photo editing, and gaming. I'll be running Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop, with gaming set to 1440p. Regarding the CPU choice, should I go with the 3900X for extra cores or the 9900K for better Intel QuickSync performance in Adobe software?

Quicksync is incredibly powerful; achieving victory requires a massive 3950X advantage over 9900k, meaning 9900k is the optimal path.

I'm not aware of specific benchmarks highlighting Intel's advantages, though many focus on AMD's performance in multi-core scenarios. Your preference for AMD's extra cores is understandable.

Ensure you're working in H.264 format. For h.265 projects, consider using AMD's approach.

He did reference Photoshop and noted that the i9 remains ahead in most tests. It’s actually feasible to build a more affordable 9900K version compared to the 3900X, which I find personally interesting.

Hello everyone! Photoshop is relatively light on resources—mainly Lightroom. I shoot with a Sony A6500, so future footage will likely be H.264. There’s some GoPro content in H.265, but less of it. I’m not sure why I’m focused on the 3900X; probably because core counts matter and my assumption that it’ll outperform the 9900K in four years is a bit blind.
