So I decided to change my 3600X up a notch! I set it to 3.8GHz at 1.41V and got scores like single core 481 and multi core 3180. If I push it harder to an OC of 4.275GHz at 1.325V, my scores jump to single core 477 and multi core 3554 while staying cool with a max temp around 65C for heavy gaming on a 1440P setup with an RTX 2080 Super or some light video work like shadowplay. Is this OC good?

You don't need to touch Ryzen 3rd Gen CPUs; just leave them alone so your other programs can run smoothly in the background.

You shouldn't touch your Ryzen processor; just let the other programs run freely without interference.

I agree with RodroX about the Ryzen 5900 X, but I had my CPU set to a 131v Cb score of 3944 and Sc 509. Then I went back to Pbo and let it run on its own after watching some videos from BuildZoid's channel about overclocking the 3000 series. I don't want my CPU to get too weak or die early. AMD has really taken the overclocking power away from us with the 3000s, so now we need to wait and see what the 4000s can do.

My Ryzen 5 3600 is basically capable of hitting around 3650 points in the CR20 test, even if I add Power Boost and PBO to it. If I could use a cooler instead, the scores might go up a little more. But yeah, using my cheap after-market cooling setup makes the CPU run pretty hot with those power modes on.

Yo, Rodro and Cross, you guys are kinda messing up that custom character sheet by not really using much effort at all. lol

I am one of the early adopters, but for my CPU setup, it's not worth the money. The improvements are barely noticeable, if any at all. After testing for hours, I couldn't find anything that really beat stock settings paired with PBO. It's basically a coin flip and I had very little to work with on the first day. I know I'm smart enough to realize there are much better CPUs around me today, like the Ryzen 5 3600 you can buy now. Those new ones are definitely better than the bad batches from 2019. But in general, AMD and good motherboard settings usually work pretty well for my needs.

I think most of what you said is true. Many people are missing the fact that manually overclocking a Ryzen 3000 hurts single-core speed; there are still apps out there that need strong cores. Let it work as intended. A good cooler and fast RAM with tighter timings... nothing else really needs to be done. Now, I have a problem with some motherboard vendors who cheat us by making the default settings ignore Intel or AMD rules in their race for sales.

I tried to fix it, but I didn't want to kill my computer. Back then in the 2000s, they were much easier on our old graphics cards. Let's not forget that there are no new BIOS updates coming out for me right now while a one-year upgrade is happening. Asus has not released an update since November last year for my Asus Rog Strix X470.
