Ryzen 2600, Asus Prime X470 Pro, G-Skill Trident 32GB 3200MHz
I improved my RAM to a G-Skill Trident Z 32GB package. I turned on DOCP/XMP to utilize the 3200mhz settings. It operated smoothly for more than a year. After switching to Windows 11, I began experiencing sporadic game freezes and BSODs. I ran some basic diagnostics and updated my motherboard's BIOS to the newest release. It functioned stably for roughly three weeks before the same issues reappeared. A complete reinstall didn't resolve the problem. It's odd—I can handle regular tasks like browsing or coding without trouble. Games run perfectly after a restart, but opening a browser triggers crashes intermittently. The crashes happen unpredictably. Restarting helps only when I avoid using the browser. I've reinstalled and confirmed the game files are intact.
Below is the error logged in the Event Viewer (consistent issues across all games):
I plan to restore Windows by using fresh installation files. Switching from Windows 10 to 11 via USB isn’t recommended because it tends to cause issues.
I considered just swapping the RAM first (and maybe the CPU if a cooler replacement was available) since this issue is unpredictable. We're not sure what's causing it. It might also be related to bugs in the RGB control software. Are you using ASUS or GSKILL products?
I used the built-in Windows reset tool to reinstall the operating system. The RGB software hasn’t been installed yet. Only essential drivers were added, such as Nvidia and Realtek audio, with default drivers automatically downloaded. Everything seems to be in order now. I might have resolved the issue by re-seating and swapping the RAM sticks (slot 4 to 2 and 2 to 4). No crashes or BSODs have occurred since the swap. I’ll keep watching and update here if similar problems arise. Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it!
I’ve noticed the built-in reset option often doesn’t work well and many problems keep happening. I’m hoping the fix is in place, but if it doesn’t resolve the issue, it might be best to start fresh with a new Windows 11 installation.
