Ryzen 1600x Trouble
Ryzen 1600x Trouble
I'm having trouble getting the Ryzen 1600x to recognize the overclocked state after adjusting it to 3.9ghz and disabling 3 cores. It's frustrating trying to get them back online. Any guidance would be really helpful.
Yeah, just restart the software to the default settings. I’d even suggest avoiding it altogether. Using software for overclocking isn’t the best approach. You should rely on the BIOS to achieve a stable overclock with minimal voltage usage.
Also, Ryzen Master might show that your BIOS hasn’t been updated. Fix that right away—it’ll help with better overclocking and memory compatibility. Look up your CPU/motherboard pair and try overclocking in the BIOS for those reasons.
What motherboard do you have?
I've already updated the bios to the newest version. Ryzen master is blocking me from doing anything, so I just uninstalled it. I have an MSI B350M Arctic Mortar motherboard. I'm relatively new to the PC world, so I'm not very familiar with all this yet.
Jarrod Hazelton has already updated the BIOS to the latest version. Ryzen Master is no longer working for me, so I just uninstalled it. I’m using an MSI B350M Arctic Mortar motherboard. I’m relatively new to PC building, so I’m still learning a lot.
Ryzen Master can be handy for quick fixes, but for a long-term stable overclock, the BIOS is better. A guide like this will be useful:

The main advice is to go slow, check stability and temperatures with tools like Prime95 for stress tests and HWMon to track temps and sensors as you adjust settings. Take your time reading the guides and learning—once you get the basics, overclocking will be much easier.
I have a 1600x at 3.85 MHz with 1.3V, it’s rock solid and stable. It was simple enough to get it right.
I also have another motherboard, but feel free to reach out if you need help.
I don't understand what's occurred, but I've reset the CMOS and BIOS. Removed the master program. Still unsure about the situation.

This is what HWmonitor reports. It can detect 6 cores, but only 3 are showing clocks.
I tried another monitoring tool—apologies if you already have one. If not, consider the free trial of AIDA64 and check if it’s still available.
Does your system feel sluggish?
I performed a cinebench test and before it reached 119x it was at 650, which is almost halfway to the benchmark. The task manager displays only six threads running. I plan to install AIDA64 once I have the opportunity.
