I've been suggesting people purchase an RX 6600 because of its value for money, and so far, everyone has had positive results. It didn't matter whether they already owned a GPU or not. However, my closest friend is the only one facing this issue: "SystemSettings.exe - System error The process has been terminated because it wasn't possible to allocate more memory." This problem occurs whenever he sets the settings to their maximum, even though his GPU only uses 5.6GB of VRAM. Even with the same game and GPU, he struggles to match the highest settings. For instance, in Assassins Creed Valhalla (except low settings), Spiderman Miles Morales (RTX) could play, but he couldn't with the same high settings. His PC specs are: i5-8600K, 2x8GB DDR4 at 2400MHz (Corsair Vengeance LX), MOBO, Asus Prime Z370-P 750W, 80plus Gold Corsair RX 6600. He previously had a GTX 1060 with 6GB RAM. We tried DDU (Nvidia, AMD & Intel) and updated the chipset and BIOS, but nothing changed. I'm reaching out for your assistance—thanks for taking the time to read.

Do you have a spare drive you could use for a short-term Windows installation? This might help determine if the issue is with Windows or hardware.

He only possesses a single SSD, so we intend to wipe Windows 10 and reinstall it completely from scratch (and naturally, install all the necessary drivers).

I would run a RAM test using PassMark memtest86.

Verify VRAM separately from overall system RAM.

Ram performed well before the RX 6600, handling maximum configurations smoothly—even at high settings. We noticed this when it exceeded 6GB, testing CyberPunk max settings without FSR 1080p and Assassin's Creed Valhalla at high resolutions.

Search for instructions on checking VRAM and finding a guide. If the attempt doesn’t work, it’s likely the issue and you should limit it to 6GB.

If it's the VRAM, it could be a brand new GPU with warranty. You can't request a replacement fund or another GPU.
