Rust frames are surprisingly affordable.
I’m wondering if it’s realistic to discuss this here, but I guess I should give it a shot. I’ve been playing Rust again after a year off, and my graphics cards aren’t performing as I’d like. On good days I score 90-100, but sometimes it drops to 55-60. These cards look much worse than the ones I had a year ago. I checked several YouTube tutorials meant to boost FPS, but nothing seems to help. I also looked at benchmarks from people with similar setups and they seem to achieve better frame rates. I suspect the issue might be related to my RAM. I’m just asking before I upgrade. Here are my specs: RTX 2070 16GB, 2666MHz, Intel Core i7 9700K, ROG Maximus XI Hero Corsair H115i AIO, Samsung 750 EVO.
RAM appears to act as a performance constraint in this case because CPU and GPU utilization remain roughly equal. Before considering an upgrade, it’s wise to investigate potential issues such as overheating, driver problems, or even try slightly increasing the RAM speed through overclocking to see if that improves results.
