Hello, the issue with my friend's Steam account was taken over. While the support team was responding, a user playing Rust claimed responsibility. After recovering the account, there was a game ban applied. When he sought a ban appeal from Rust support, they stated they would not restore the account. I also learned that Easy Anti Cheat requires a hard drive reset; if my friend creates a new account, will it also be banned?
P.s. My friend has never used any cheats in Rust, so his PC is clean.

He might attempt a fresh account on a new HDD or SSD with a new Windows installation, though certain businesses use HWID from the motherboard rather than just HDD, which could cause issues. However, those who have managed it have successfully resolved it again. He has three opportunities to appeal and may want to contact support once more.

I would suggest making improved choices...
Although someone might not agree or comprehend a ban and a decision not to reinstate an account, they may wish to continue playing a game again. A ban is issued based on the actual events with the account. People can freely share their opinions, but that doesn't necessarily reflect reality. Your friend probably missed some important details. Unless your friend offers evidence to support their account, their gaming in Rust has been stopped.

Screenshots of conversations with Steam support lasting 27 hours? Or updates in the second email regarding Steam account information?

He's saying what his friend needs to prove what occurred. It's hard not to think so, but if it's true, this seems pretty disappointing.

You doubt Steam understands 27 hours of chats and a few emails regarding account updates. You question whether they possess comprehensive details about everything? And you wonder what else this supposed friend is omitting?

It was rust that stopped him, not Steam; what Steam understands is just a bit irrelevant.
