VMware might be preferred even with KVM because it offers a more user-friendly interface and better integration for virtualization tasks.

Virtual Machine Manager turns QEMU setup into a straightforward checkbox task. Most distros now handle the BIOS and kernel settings automatically. I installed using an older version of https://atlasos.net; the updates from those developers speed things up compared to a standard Windows install. Running it on its own SSD gives different results, but that’s not my concern. If you already have Windows on another drive, you can use sysprep to prepare it and boot directly into a VM—though I’m not ready to try it yet.

Running on Windows means I’m missing some handy features like automatic display adjustments and quick USB device setup. Hyper-V isn’t ideal either—it doesn’t offer those conveniences.

Hello, I need to change from MS to another platform, but unfortunately there are software options only available for Windows. They communicate through a COM port to the hardware. I’m trying to run some applications but haven’t found them working. Do you know any methods to install software alongside games in Mint?

VMware seems easier to use compared to KVM, that's what I think

Checked the Linux Mint discussion board. Most responses are posted there; let me know if anything is missing.
