Running tests on an old computer for overclocking but facing errors regardless of adjustments.
I located my old PC, cleaned it up and applied fresh paste, but it still functions. The specs are Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 3 GB RAM. It’s an ASUS P5Q Pro model running the latest BIOS. When I access the BIOS and attempt to adjust settings or overclock, there are issues. Even after tweaking frequency and voltage slightly, after rebooting the screen fails to display any signal. Once I restart it again, a boot error appears saying "Overclocking failed" and it offers to revert to default settings. Anyone have an explanation for this? I’m eager to see what happens when I push this old machine to its limits. Thanks in advance.
The issue occurred when adjusting the BLCK clock to high. The settings being changed include overclocking parameters, voltage levels, and power supply specifications.
