Hi Guys,
I'm new to overclocking and have this configuration:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming (Non-SLI)
CPU: AMD FX-8300
Air Cooler: Deepcool Gammaxx 300
GPU: Aorus XTR GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 2x Hyperx Fury 4gb ddr3 1866
PSU: Huntkey GP 550
I managed to push the CPU to 4.2 ghz @ 1.368V, but I'm unsure if it's safe or if it can hit 4.4 ghz without the motherboard overheating :O
(On hot days it gets close to 60°C, around 50-55°C under normal conditions)
Should I stick with this setup or switch to liquid cooling? Thanks!

I stayed with you in the same place.
The overclock is solid, but the 8-core setup usually requires substantial voltage increases to reach 4.3/4.4, and the performance boost doesn't justify it.

All AMD's FX series struggle to match the demands of the latest high-end AAA titles.
Pushing them to overclock only adds strain without significant benefits.
Spending more money for incremental clock speed gains is pointless.
It would be better to maintain the current setup and consider upgrading, such as to an R5 1600.
