Hi there. You can definitely install Windows 8.1 on the laptop even though you already have it set up on your desktop. Just make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.

It can be used to set up version 8.1, but enabling it will disable your existing version, particularly if you're linked to a Microsoft account.
