Hi there. You can definitely install Windows 8.1 on the laptop even though you already have it set up on your desktop. Just make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.

It can be used to set up version 8.1, but enabling it will disable your existing version, particularly if you're linked to a Microsoft account.

I often make this error and fix it about 80% of the time. I become really frustrated every time I do it.

You believe you have an issue. I often lose one to three words in my messages, which gives my posts a clumsy appearance. It’s usually a hassle to go back and fix the mistake.
