Running my PC at its maximum capacity for Minecraft
My computer operates at around 10% of its capacity while playing Minecraft with all settings at maximum. I usually achieve 200-400 frames per second on the server, but when particle effects, water updates, or lighting are heavy, my FPS drops to 1-10. Is there a method to tweak the game so it uses more of my system’s power and improves those frame rates?
Minecraft relies a lot on the CPU, unless you're using extremely demanding shaders. Any frame drops will likely stem from CPU issues. How much CPU is used when your frame rate decreases?
I'm testing a 5820k at 4.4Ghz and my system's CPU stays under 30% during the game, even though Minecraft is utilizing just a few cores.
Interesting, consider restricting Minecraft to just 4 of your cores or threads. On a lower-end CPU, it consumes all of your 4C and 8T. Increasing the allocated RAM for Minecraft can also make a significant difference at times.
