He recently purchased a new computer for me, but he chose an Intel Precision Tower 3660 and an Intel Arc B580. It seems the GPU wasn’t listed as compatible with discrete options. I’m curious if there’s a way to make it work differently. Please let me know if anyone can assist—I’m happy to share more details if needed. This system runs Windows 10.

You don’t need any special steps as long as the power source can handle a dedicated GPU. Just mount the card, connect it to power, and set up the drivers.

Ensure the resizable BAR feature is activated during BIOS setup. Failure to do so may compromise performance, and if the BIOS lacks this setting, the card's efficiency will be reduced.

The forum indicates Dell supports ReBAR and above4G configurations in BIOS, though one user encountered boot problems with the B580. It advises checking these settings but warns others not to face similar issues.

I connected it and turned it on, but the lights flicker for about five seconds before switching off.

When you connect the Dell machine, it powers on normally. If the side panel remains inactive, check for a chassis intrusion switch. I've noticed that larger workstations can become unresponsive if the side is left open.
