Run smoothly without overloading your system.
Details: Ryzen 7 3800x (PBO active) RTX 3060 (overclocked) 32GB RAM (overclocked to 3266 MT/s). Motherboard: asus TUF b550-plus PSU: some EVGA 700W units unknown. After a year of use, I'm consistently achieving around 200 FPS in Valorant with just 40% CPU and 30% GPU load. Overclocking RAM, CPU, and GPU hasn't significantly boosted performance; in fact, my average has dropped to about 150 FPS, sometimes as low as 100 on a 240Hz display. I've applied all available Windows and BIOS tweaks, updated drivers, and even reset the system, but nothing improves things. Benchmarks like Cinebench or Furmark run smoothly at full speed with manageable temps. This is clearly a performance bottleneck. Can someone assist? Thanks ahead.
It’s hard to notice the distinction between 144 and 240Hz because many clips suggest it’s not very obvious, similar to 60 to 120/144. Have you turned on gaming mode and performance settings in Windows? https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-enable-...ower-plan/ Just to mention, your hardware shouldn’t be pushed to its limit in Valorant since it’s not too demanding. For a comparison, this video is often used as a benchmark.
I've turned those on, and I notice the distinction clearly, particularly in this first-person shooter, because moving the camera swiftly becomes quite bothersome.
Also, a Ryzen 5 5600 would likely boost FPS in Valorant significantly.
In Valorant you adjusted the maximum FPS to 240, possibly because it was restricting performance.
