Run Ryzen 5 3600 at 1.75GHz smoothly Optimize settings for stable performance
Occasionally it happens but when I turn on the PC everything functions normally except the CPU which fluctuates between 1.7-1.85 GHz without any clear reason, only stabilizing at 4.1-2 GHz after a restart. The power settings remain set to high performance in Windows. I haven't overclocked the CPU and don't know what might be causing this issue. The system runs stock with Asus Turbo GTX 1080Ti, Ryzen 5 3600, Corsair Vengeance LPX, and other components listed.
Unless you modified the BIOS settings, the main reason for dropping below 3.6GHz is likely thermal throttling. I recommend using Ryzen Master to track your clock speeds and temperatures. If throttling occurs, verify your thermal paste application—ensure proper pressure and good contact. If nothing changes, consider reaching out to AMD for assistance.
