Run Minecraft Server. Plugins?
Hey everyone,
I just began setting up our first MC Server for my friends and I. I’m hoping there’s something already available to make things easier, haha.
It’s a Spigot server, and I’ve been looking into plugins lately. I don’t want to go overboard. So far, a spawn area has been created—non-admins can’t modify or build anything. That’s the only positive part so far, like setting up zones with permission rules.
I have a few questions that I couldn’t find answers for through searching, YouTube, or plugin websites.
How do you configure a currency, such as GemsEconomy?

And integrate it with a shop, like MorphShops:

My issue is figuring out how to tie everyone in when they need to pay before they can take items from a chest. I set up a currency using GemsEconomy, but now I’m unsure how to implement a trading system where the shop owner can decide the price—whether it’s set by players, admins, or a general rule.
I’m looking for a plugin that can handle a job system compatible with 1.14.4. If none exists, maybe downgrading to 1.14 would work? The recent updates seem mostly just small fixes, right?
Anyone know a plugin that supports this kind of functionality?

I noticed your post about the recommendations for the old build. You should consider downgrading to 1.13.2 or wait a bit, since there aren't many compatible plugins for 1.14.4. You might also switch Spigot to Paper—it offers better performance and resolves chest and hopper delays.

- Ill look into getting my server to paper. Lag fixes are the main reason I am running 1.14.4 at all, since I thought that if any - it would be patches fixing some of the older issues.
- Ill consider downgrading, in order to get the Job (i think its called "Jobs Revived") Plugin working. That will only require 1.14.4 -> 1.14 though. Why would you advise going down to 1.13.2? or rephrased: What other plugins do you think I should use?
- and my biggest issue: since Im not capable of establishing an economy with GemsEconomy and MorphShops, which economy plugin would you advise me to get? All I want is a server wide currency, people having a balance, people being forced to pay with that currency. (unless they wanna just gift or trade otherwise ofc)

I haven't checked those news much and I noticed there are several new plugins for 1.14. Sorry for the oversight. Long time I didn't understand how new economy plugins function.
Hmm... I believe jobs reborn would be a good fit for your server. It seems straightforward to set up if you watch that tutorial video.
You might also consider using CMI or EssentialsX instead of GemsEconomy, as MorphShops only supports those two.
EDIT: It looks like you'll need the Vault plugin too to make MorphShops work.
