RTX 4090 / i9 14900K with 1% lows performance-wise
Hey, yeah you read that right I'm getting 20, yes 20 fps as 1% lows in Rocket League while having 1300 (ingame) - 1700 (freeplay) fps. This makes it basically unplayable as it feels so stuttery (don't know if this is due to my lack of VRR on 240hz or whatever, just feels that way). I thought I was going mental but I popped up Afterburner statistics and my 1% lows are actually incredibly low, as stated prior. I really don't know what to do, I tried reinstalling drivers, resetting BIOS. GPU utilization is only around 60-70% at 48-60 Celsius while the CPU is around 70-80 Degrees which seems a bit high for a game like RL to me, but I don't really know all that much when its comes to temps, clk speeds and shit... Maybe this has to do with Intel 13/14th series but I thought there was a micro-code update to fix that. Any help would be appreciated.
Aim for around 300 frames per second unless your display supports higher rates. The reduction in latency won’t noticeably impact performance beyond that. Are there other applications open? Is there a video player, music service, or Discord active?
@Shimejii and @Bagzie appreciated the suggestions, though I didn’t include it yet—I realized it was the initial action, continuing even after the 360 cap.
Additionally, I considered this option; the game appears to function well in the Epic Games version (difficulty with Afterburner OSD remains unresolved), suggesting a potential Steam connection. I also attempted to verify file integrity, but no issues were detected.
Remove all the flashy visuals from the vehicle and check if that’s the issue. Otherwise, keep an eye on the CPU and GPU to identify what’s triggering the drops.
