RTX 4070 fails to boot with riser connection.
Hello, your RTX 4070 functions properly in the PCI slot but not with the riser cable. After switching from a Ghost Gen3 to a Gen4 riser, you purchased the Gen4 cable in the hope it would help. Despite updating your BIOS and adjusting the riser settings, the issue persists. Your motherboard is an Asrock Z690M-ITX/ax. Could there be another factor affecting compatibility?
Did you modify the PCIe version to 3 or 2? On certain mobos, the "riser" setting relates to branching that isn't connected.
Consider checking Gen2 first; if that fails, the issue might not be speed-related. Also, make sure DMI remains in auto mode, which handles CPU-to-chipset communication.
The issue remains unresolved. Please find the remaining settings attached for further reference.
I'm facing the same problem again. My RTX 4070 runs perfectly when connected straight to the motherboard, but it fails completely with a riser cable. Using my old GPU (1660 Super) with the riser works fine. I have an NZXT H1 case, so I must use a riser. The PCIe versions 3, 2, and 1 in BIOS are also unresponsive. I'm unsure what to do next. My only option is to purchase a PCIe GEN 4 cable, but it doesn't seem to help either. Would really appreciate any advice or solutions.
