Hello! I've been searching for a new laptop lately and found two options: one with an RTX 3060 (TGP 140W) and another with an RTX 4060 (TGP 75W). Both use the same i5 12500h processor, but the first has 16GB more RAM (32GB total). I'm trying to decide which is better. I believe the 4060 might be limited by its power consumption, making the RTX 3060 a more suitable choice.

Do people often ask for help with preferences on here? How is anyone supposed to answer that, you haven't said anything about who, what, where, when or why you want one of these. I guess I could be wrong but I can't even recommend a computer to a client of mine without having spoken to them for awhile to get an idea of what they're going to do with it.

If it isn't obvious yet, I aim to purchase the option with the best performance. I'll play games from time to time, but mostly use my laptop at university for computer science studies.

This might be too much for certain text files. Usually I suggest using desktops instead of laptops, so with this budget I’d opt for a desktop and get a used tablet or chromebook for school.
