It seemed my budget pump gave out loud noises. I kept the PC running nonstop since it serves as a backup for important tasks. I don’t know how long it had been running this way—when I got home from work, I noticed it. My main concern is that my RTX2080 is getting very hot while playing a test of HLL. Since I’m using a 5800x, I expected temperatures between 80-90°C on the CPU. However, my GPU is already hitting 90°C or higher. That’s quite alarming (like Jeremy Clarkson on the road). I checked that my PSU provides enough power and that the cables and PCIe connections are solid, even with a backup GTX 1050. I also tested running 30 minutes of games to confirm power stability. Unfortunately, the fans and RGB lights on the RTX are no longer working, and the status LEDs on the connectors aren’t lighting up as they did with my GTX 1050. The system still boots and runs games until it throttles due to overheating, dropping to around 10 FPS. My cooling setup is barely keeping up, so I’m considering a repair—possibly soldering—and wondering if there are any known solutions first. I’m currently using a spare GTX 1080 and my small cooler, but I’d like to fix the RTX2080 if possible.
