Pc - AMD RYZEN 5 5600 - ASUS EVO DUAL OC RTX 2070 SUPER - GIGABYTE B450 GAMING - RAM Issues: 1- System shuts down with black screen after restarting while GPU fans are at full speed (rest button/Windows reboot) 2- PC starts from off state causing rapid fan activation and eventual shutdown (PSU must be disconnected and then restarted to fix) 3- Black screen appears and GPU fan runs at maximum during BIOS boot, occasionally. Troubleshooting steps: 1) Tested using my own GPU (2070s, 8GB/6GB Pcie) on another PC – worked fine 2) Used my friend’s GPU (3060ti, 8GB Pcie) on this machine – no issues at all 3) Switched power supply to another room reduced black screen frequency but not eliminated it. Using different CPU (1700x), RAM types, and booting from different drives with fresh OS helped. Possible causes: PSU quality, thermal paste application timing, or GPU fan settings. Consider cleaning PCIe connectors and verifying cooler installation. Regarding thermal pads: applying 2mm pads may help if GPU stays cool, but effectiveness is uncertain. If unsure, replacing the PSU might be safer. For the GPU itself, plan to install new thermal pads despite current cold operation. I appreciate your support. Thanks!
