RTX 2060 shows performance issues.
Hi, I constructed this system back in 2020 and noticed my RTX 2060 often lagged, especially with recent game updates. It wasn’t a big issue when it first launched, but now performance drops significantly. On checking benchmarks, it still seems to be a decent card, though not the fastest. I recently updated Windows 10 and saw a small improvement in FPS. I’ve already installed the latest drivers, and they’re up to date. If anyone has tips or suggestions, I’d really value your advice. Thanks, Gabriel.
The motherboard can handle dual-channel configuration. With only two slots available, dual-channel RAM is possible only if both slots are functional. Adding more sticks isn't recommended unless you already have dual-rank memory, which changes the situation entirely. In short, you do have dual-channel RAM. Regarding your GPU performance, what temperatures are being recorded? If it's a single-fan setup, it likely runs quite hot. The card may slow down to stay within its 83°C threshold, which could be causing the reduced speed. This issue might worsen in a case with inadequate airflow.
Thank you for clarifying that my MB is compatible with Dual Channel. The system operates smoothly without exceeding 75-77°C, though during testing the CPU appears to be the limiting factor.
CPU temperatures typically stay under 60°C. For tracking clock speeds during benchmarks, consider using software that logs performance metrics. This will help you capture accurate data for analysis.
Sure, please set up gpu-z and start it. Ensure your 2060 is chosen as the GPU in the lower left switch. If you have a second screen, move it there so you can focus on it. Otherwise, press the button labeled "log to file," select a save location, and keep that option enabled. When running a game or benchmark, confirm you log the results right after and then stop the logging process. Avoid any personal details at the top or bottom of the log—just upload if needed.
I recommend using Msi Afterburner. It lets you enable an OSD (on-screen display) that presents all the statistics live. Initially, you need to choose what information you want to see. I suggest displaying nearly everything so you can also identify core stats that highlight possible bottlenecks.
