RTC connecting and No route in discord and I can't play any online games.
Hello, my name is from India and I’m a student. I recently switched to a fiber service that came with an ONU (optical networking unit). The connection was poor and quite costly. After that, I asked my ISP if I could buy my own ONU and router so I could manage the connection myself. They agreed and provided me with the equipment. I bought the ONU from this link: https://www.amazon.in/EPON-Optical-Netwo...330&sr=8-1) and the router from this one: https://www.amazon.in/EPON-Optical-Netwo...330&sr=8-1).
I set it up because the ONU didn’t support Wi-Fi, so I added a TP-Link router. I was able to get online, but I still can’t play games, make calls, or stream without issues. I suspect the problem might be related to double NAT since I have two private IP addresses. This could explain the RTC connection in Discord and the no-route error. I’ve tried various solutions and looked into it, but I’m not sure what else is wrong. Could you help me resolve this? Thank you!
It might definitely point to a routing problem if both the ONU and the TP-Link are set to use routing. The simplest fix would be switching the TP-Link into switch mode and limiting it to a single internal network. If firewalls are active on either device, that could also lead to complications.
1. Connect the TP-Link router to your modem.
2. Access the router’s web interface using a browser.
3. Log in with your credentials.
4. Navigate to the settings or advanced options.
5. Look for the switch mode option and enable it.
