I reside in a subpar neighborhood with internet limits of up to 8mbit/s download and 0.30mbit/s upload. My friend brought over a 4G connection, achieving 50mbit/s download and 38mbit/s upload. I can access the same service for the same cost. I’m weighing options but won’t get a router from my provider; I’ll need to purchase one myself. While browsing, I found the Asus RT-AC1200G which supports USB and claims 4G connectivity. Should I connect a SIM card via USB dongle or should I look for a model with a SIM slot? The 100 euro TL-MR6400 is pricier but includes a built-in SIM slot. Would it offer faster speeds compared to the RT-AC1200G with a dongle?

Your current service comes from a Croatian ISP named Iskon, offering 8Mbit/s download and 0.20Mbit/s upload speeds. In your location, the maximum speed is limited by old Yugoslav telephone lines, but 4G coverage is much stronger now. You're considering a router with Ethernet and a SIM card slot or USB for better connectivity. How did you manage your SIM card connection during your 4G internet experience?

I believe you're misunderstanding the question; he needs a 4G router to disconnect from his existing network. It looks like those devices are currently expensive, so I think it would be better if they became more affordable over time.
