Yes, I’m ready to be a great roommate and let you watch the video on my PC. Once I’m back, I’ll check for any programs and remove the unwanted ads. Just let me know if you need tips on cleaning up the mess—I’ve been using a Mac for four years and don’t get viruses often.

Check CCcleaner, Malwarebytes, and the Control Panel along with Chrome extensions. Perform a virus scan using tools like Avast.

Malwarebytes will eliminate everything, start in safe mode and attempt to browse the internet. It will identify issues as they occur. Finally, it will remove the remaining threats.

I usually reset the whole system and start fresh, but you can install an antivirus and Malware Bytes to eliminate adware.

Fast scanning solution that resolves 95% of issues: JRT Scanner and ADW Cleaner. Besides these, tools like Malwarebytes are also worth considering. In my experience, they perform reliably, especially in corporate settings where they’re used first for virus removal after a detection. Using more than one scanner is helpful, but avoid running several active antivirus programs at once.
