Roblox causes my CPU to drop to about 0.8ghz today for the first time. It’s been stable otherwise. After installing throttlesop, power usage reduced from 40-50W to 4-5W and remains low. Temperatures stay around 50°C. I have a 13600KF and Z690pro WIFI. Only Roblox behaves this way; other games run at full speed. Also, my GPU no longer reaches 5.1GHz—it was max before my BIOS update, but that’s not the main issue.
Hi, try this: Change your Windows Power Plan Open the Start menu and type “power plan” Click “Choose a power plan” and select High Performance or Ultimate Performance Then click “Change plan settings” > “Change advanced power settings” Find Processor power management: Set Minimum processor state to 100% Set Maximum processor state to 100% Check BIOS Settings (if you're comfortable going into BIOS) Try disabling C-states (temporarily) Set Roblox to use only Performance Cores Launch Roblox, then open Task Manager Go to the Details tab > right-click robloxplayer.exe > Set affinity Uncheck CPU 8 to 15 (these are E-cores), and leave only CPU 0 to 7 checked This forces Roblox to run on your faster P-cores. or Reinstall Roblox (in case it’s a bad update) uninstall Roblox via Control Panel Then delete this folder manually: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Roblox Restart your PC Reinstall Roblox from the official website
The 13600KF must maintain P cores at 5.1 GHz continuously across all games, regardless of active cores. Any drop below this frequency suggests throttling. Your ThrottleStop capture confirms POWER limit throttling occurred. Certain programs or games may restrict turbo power too low. The turbo register maxes out at 4095 Watts; some software mistakenly sets it to 4096, causing overflow and a 0 Watt reading. This leads to power limits capping at 800 MHz. Some BIOS versions share this issue. Ensure you’re using the latest BIOS and set limits to 4095W. Employ ThrottleStop 9.7.3, open FIVR, and press Per Core to verify settings. Certain games may lower per-core turbo values below defaults, another reason for full-speed failure. Removing Roblox data resolved the issue today, but the root cause could still exist. Use ThrottleStop to lock MSR and MMIO turbo limits to prevent recurrence. Invest in a superior CPU cooler or explore voltage reduction techniques. A CPU reaching 100°C will cause erratic performance due to thermal throttling, possibly triggering power limits too.
Hello, the problem has been resolved. The CPU isn't throttling and the temperature remains below 85 even during maximum load.
Hello once more! The problem came up again, and removing appdata didn't solve it this time.
Additionally, it's just Roblox that causes power throttling, reaching a maximum of 5W. It works well across other games, whether they're CPU-heavy or not, such as Escape From Tarkov and Broken Arrow.
Power limit throttling occurs instead of thermal throttling. Refer to the ThrottleStop TPL window on your system. Follow the guidance from my earlier post.
