Hi All, I'm trying to use Crystal Disk Info to inspect drives after backups failed. It displays three drives: two Samsung 500GB units and a 2TB Toshiba. One Samsung drive is marked as warning. I'm puzzled because Disk Management shows just one 1TB volume and DiskPart lists only one disk. This makes me think the Samsung drives might be in RAID 0. I'm unsure why the 2TB drive isn't visible on Windows or a PERC 6/i RAID card. Do anyone have suggestions? Is there software to manage the RAID card from Windows? I don't see any online resources and don't think I have an IDRAC.

Is that PERC card switched to IT target mode? If not, it's showing fake drives. It should be a rebranded LSI card, allowing LSI support to inspect the actual storage devices.

Windows doesn't recognize the drive unless you configure the RAID setup. This seems to be the usual situation. There doesn't appear to be any detailed information available about smart data on those cards in Windows. You can try the boot menu option to handle RAID management. There are software options for managing the card in Windows—check the Dell website, though they might not support the latest versions.

I don’t understand if it is. I’m off the network from the server. I’ll search for LSI software. I also attached screenshots for your reference.

It seems RAID would be a better setup. The two 500GB drives fit well with the 1TB capacity. I don’t have direct access to the system right now, just trying to determine what options are available. The IT department needs to replace the hardware. Regarding software compatibility, there’s good news—it works with newer versions now. The server in use is 2011 SBS.
