rmation about keeping a new PC in good condition.
Hello everyone celebrating the new year! Please accept my apologies if this discussion is not in the right spot. And thank you for being a newcomer.
I just bought my first gaming PC and I’m eager to ensure it runs smoothly. However, I’m feeling a bit confused about how to set it up properly. I faced some issues because I didn’t have the correct Wi-Fi drivers installed, and even searching on the motherboard manufacturer’s site was difficult. So I wondered, “What other drivers should I always keep updated?”
The system currently runs:
NZXT H5 Flow RGB
7800X3D
Phantom Assassin 120 SE
B850 Tomahawk Wifi
9070 XT Hellhound
WD SN7100
Corsair RM850x
If you could help me maintain the PC in good condition and keep the drivers updated, I’d really appreciate it. Do these updates need to be handled through Windows Update, or is there another way? Also, thank you for your understanding—I’m still learning!
Windows update will detect and install certain drivers. AMD's Adrenalin will handle the GPU and chipset updates as well.
I have excessive worries about Windows updates even though autoinstall is enabled. It appears a new virus definition appears every five minutes, which should handle your system regularly. For BIOS, occasionally visit the motherboard site to confirm you're using the latest version. I also regularly check Intel's driver assistant page since I use mostly Intel hardware. AMD might have similar updates.
Eventually I had to contact a technician who discovered the board uses a Qualcomm chip for Wi-Fi and provided me with the file on my phone, which I then transferred to my PC. That quickly resolved the issue.
Finding a solution by searching online was extremely difficult when I didn't know the exact cause!
Edit: I should have mentioned that the monitor is a Philips Evnia 8000 27M2N8500. It hasn't caught my attention much yet, but the image looks slightly off and it might need some adjustments too.
And I wanted to mention how loud the case fans are – probably the fan curves need tweaking, though there might be a helpful thread for this.
Check if the display/monitor drivers are available at the provided link.
When you confirmed the motherboard correctly, it appears to be using a Mediatek wifi adapter. Run CPU-Z and check the mainboard section for identification.
I'm currently using my phone, but I'll review this when I'm back home. I believe I understand AMD adrenaline (or its predecessor), though I'm not sure if my PC has it yet. If it's not available, I'll install Ryzen Master, which I haven't heard of before.
Download your video and chipset drivers straight from AMD:

I usually install the chipset drivers first (just for practice), then the video drivers. Adrenalin offers an auto-update feature once the drivers are installed.
Ryzen Master allows you to adjust system settings, such as fan speeds. You’ll need PWN fans or a compatible fan controller to manage them.
