RMA Assistance
Hello everyone, I hope all is well and everyone is staying safe. I’m seeking some guidance—I had to return my Asus X570-E Gaming Motherboard via RMA. ASUS emailed me that I’m responsible for paying $250 due to Customer Induced Damage. I don’t recall noticing the scratch during shipping, but could that damage (see red-circled photo) really make the board fail? Thank you all for your help.
It seems the item got harmed during shipping or had chips when you received it. Clarify your question for better assistance.
For me, it doesn't seem like any signs of damage have been left, though I'm not a specialist.
It appears to be a very small component near the edge. I’m not sure there would be any signs close to that edge, but I have no confirmation. You seem okay. If it’s on the lower left side (viewing from the front), check the onboard audio to confirm everything is functioning properly. The lower left area typically holds audio traces, while the top right is for power and miscellaneous signals. The bottom right section is generally for input/output connections.
