My thoughts went wild when I noticed how perfect the frame rate is with Rivatuner versus Nvidia panels or in-game caps. Cyberpunk, Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA, Control. They all shifted from rough frame times to nearly constant smoothness. Is the software really better, or am I making a mistake? Even without Afterburner, just using Rivatuner alone.

Don't waste time seeking more answers—I already asked the same question and received nonsense, leading me into unproductive debates.

I don’t have the exact technical distinctions between their frame/FPS cap implementations. What I understand is that if you limit frames 3 FPS below the monitor’s refresh rate, it tends to reduce latency compared to uncapped settings or higher caps—especially when VSYNC and GSYNC are active. This insight from blurbusters.com might help clarify what you’re observing.
