Hello! I recently assembled my first PC about a month ago. The main specifications are: MSI Pro B650-A, Ryzen 5 7600X, Patriot Viper Venom CL30 6000MHz, RX 7900 XTX, and a Samsung Odyssey LC34G55TWWRXEN monitor. At first, everything functioned perfectly. I didn’t update the motherboard after putting it together, but that was fine. Still, there were occasional issues. After installing the 7900 XTX, I began noticing artifacts and a screen splitting in half during startup. An image helped identify the problem, but it only showed up when fast timings were enabled in AMD Adrenalin. Interestingly, the issue resolved itself after unplugging and reconnecting the DP cable. I also experienced severe stutters in "Dead by Daylight," which disappeared after the motherboard update. I ran a 40-minute benchmark test for artifacts, but it still occurred. Recently, the problem started again after changing my resolution from 2560x1440 to 3440x1440. I’m unsure what’s causing it. I’ve checked the RAM, temperatures are normal, and I’m not sure what’s wrong. Today I started the PC, and the screen displayed the events: initially it shifted to the left, stopped at the center after 30 seconds, then artifacts appeared. After disconnecting and reconnecting the DP cable, it worked again—but nothing else functioned. The mouse and keyboard were fine, but the screen remained unresponsive. I’m starting to think the motherboard might be faulty, as some reviews on Amazon mention that. What do you think, Linux enthusiasts? Thanks for your help!

It seems there might be an issue with the DP cable or the GPU is partially faulty. Have you checked another DP port cable or switched to HDMI? No reference to that in your message. It could also be that the Oddesey is just not working, which isn't unusual given the image you shared.

Hey, thanks for the update. I didn't change my cable because it's a DP type, but this issue keeps occurring every time I start up the PC in the morning. Today I booted it through the IGPU, so I connected the cable to the GPU and it worked. When I turned off the PC and plugged the cable into the GPU, the problem disappeared. Maybe I should return the GPU or ask my friend if the issue appears when I connect their PC to mine.

Consider using a different cable first. Dp cables aren't durable; they're prone to internal damage.

Purchased a new DP cable recently. The issue shown in the screenshot remains. I also observed ghosting during gameplay, which wasn’t present before. It could be the monitor is deteriorating or the GPU is the problem.

Then sure, it's all or nothing. Before moving forward, check the drivers to see if anything shifts.

Capture the actual display output. This will reflect any GPU rendering behavior. If it doesn't appear in the screenshot, the problem occurs after the GPU finishes processing. Consider checking the port connections (GPU, cable, monitor) and test on your phone too, as some users report issues only on the monitor.

Attempted several times before success, but it didn’t work. Bjoolz suggested the correct approach, though I’m unsure how to expand further. Appreciate your assistance!

Actually great idea. Did the screenshot and the problem isn't there. Means the Odyssey is giving out. Thanks for the help!
