Right now I can only use a limited amount of memory.
I've been using this configuration for more than a year. CPU model is 5800X MOBO, ROG X570-F RAM, 4x 8GB G.Skill Trident DDR4-4000. Each stick runs at 3600. During Anno 1800 I encountered a blue screen and the system stopped providing video output, which I traced to a RAM issue indicated by the motherboard LED. After testing all sticks, they function correctly but I can only use two simultaneously. The boot fails when more than two are connected. Drivers are current, BIOS is set to DOCP, and clocks are at 3600. Any suggestions?
It seems a factor triggered the RAM to adjust to 4000MHz. Reverting it to 3600MHz resolved the issue, but I’m unsure what initially caused this change.
there is a possibility that one or two of your slots or an entire setup could fail. or perhaps the memory controller in your 5800x isn't strong enough. i experienced boot loops when using 4x8 Crucial ballistix, which then reset to 2666. later i discovered my BIOS needed updating and some adjustments, and since then everything functions properly. i recommend checking the bios, as some asus boards might need a specific manual timing setup for the four main parameters. additionally, look into the error code you received for the blue screen.
Considering my encounter with peek-a-boo RAM problems on a 5900X running on a Tuf B550-PLUS and a B450M-HDV, it’s worth noting anything could happen. I’d recommend matching your RAM SKU with the board’s QVL list. If it doesn’t appear, the board might reject it, even after lasting a year without issues. https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/So...0_0423.pdf
