Hey there! Your concern is valid—updating to the F14e from the AORUS B550m Pro in beta does come with risks. The official notes highlight major security patches, so it’s wise to proceed cautiously. Checking the details from Assaf Carlsbad and Itai Liba on SentinelOne can help you understand the specific issues. Weighing the benefits against potential instability is key—make sure your system is stable before making the change.
They don’t explicitly list the weaknesses, but these could match some known issues: https://www.gigabyte.com/ca/Support/Security/1955 https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...00562.html I’d think it comes down to which threat you consider more serious. From what I see, the issue needs local access, so on a machine used by one person the danger should be low—unless you’re running infected software targeting it.
When it comes to BIOS, unless its necessary to ensure everything is working perfectly or I made a change to the hardware that requires it, I typically will not bother to update my BIOS. There's really no need to if everything is running perfectly. It's a choice and preference kind of thing. If you want to update, go ahead. There may be no turning back though once you do it. It's possible its a great update, its possible it's a poor one. It might break something in your setup, it might not. Do you really need it and or are you really worried about vulnerabilities that may not even be that big of deal? Its all in how you think about it and what you want in the end.
I understand, but because I haven't received the components yet, the MB might include a BIOS that isn't compatible with the Ryzen 5xxx line, which could require an update.
