Hey everyone! Just updated the situation – managed to get the motherboard working but the system still won’t boot. It’s probably a short circuit protection issue. I’m pretty technical and narrowed it down to either the motherboard or the CPU. Here’s what I tried:

- Switched to a new PSU and cables; power came on but no boot.
- Disconnected all peripherals one by one, even RAM and SSD – still no boot.
- Removed the CPU; nothing happened.
- Put the CPU back in; still no activity from the PSU.
- Now I’m putting the CPU back in again – it’s still not working.

So far, it seems like either the CPU or the motherboard is completely dead. I don’t have another LGA1151 unit to test further. With my budget tight, I’m thinking about getting the working part out first – maybe replacing the CPU or the board? Any suggestions on how to isolate the problem? Have anyone seen this before? Any tips would be super helpful!

Thanks a lot!

Never worry, I didn't read that. Try a different PSU—could be the motherboard issue.

Thanks for the update! Just wanted to check in. Fortunate I found a friend with a LGA 1151 motherboard and tossed it in the 6700—boom, instant upgrade! Sounds like a random failure. No clear signs of damage on the board or visible burnt parts. Planning to get a new one soon. Will adjust the settings later. Cheers!
