I'm thinking about purchasing a Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 motherboard with the 12400f chipset for gaming and mining. I picked this model because of its PCIe ports, but I've heard that Gigabyte motherboards aren't great for BIOS updates or other features. Can someone advise me? Check the link you provided.

Check out the details at the provided link. It’s a nearly identical board but includes some extra features at a comparable cost (Australia). It has gotten positive feedback. I’m seriously thinking about getting one, even though I haven’t used a Gigabyte board in a while and usually prefer ASUS.

It seems like a solid choice! Though some think Gigabyte's BIOS isn't the best for long-term support, that doesn't matter much if you enjoy the existing features. If you're mining, consider a board with a stronger VRM.

Maybe you should consider the Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus D4.
