Hi all, first of all thank you for your patience and for the help. I know this topics are all around the forum because is a frecuent asked question but i want a good decision since 9000x3d are coming soon out. Now i a have a 3700x and 32GB DDR4 3200 with a 2070 super so i need a upgrade and i want to make it this black friday. I was thinking on buying a 7800x3d like everyone has... 9800x3d is coming out but i think it will be a better choise now to buy the 7800x3d since it will be cheaper and we all know is a beast for gaming. I want my PC for gaming almost all time and sometime render some videos etc... but very often. I want a good combination for stability and beast for fps and quality gaming. I play in 1440p 144HZ. So i want to buy a 7800x3d with the MSI B650 Tomahawk Wifi and G. Skill DDR5 6000 2x16gb CL30 ( F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR) with a 4070 Super TI from Gigabyte ( Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC 16GB GDDR6X). Now my question is... Should i buy the 7800x3d and dont look to 9800x3d due to more cost and being a new one. Is the MSI MB a good choice for stability and OC in the future or UnderVolt? Any other better ram for these setup like samsung BDIE or anything i can improve? I want to hold these setup like 5-6 years like the setup i have right now. Thank you a lot again and sorry for the english.

I have personally built a few systems with the 7800X3D and the MSI B650 Tomahawk Wifi and its a good match Great motherboard that can easily handle the 9800X3D or an upcoming 10800X3D in 2026. The RAM is also great, 6000Mhz CL30 is the sweetspot. Nothing to really think about here. Except that we are expecting the 9800X3D to maybe release on Friday next week ( 1 day after intels CPU launch ). Maybe hold off until then.

Appreciate the fast reply. This configuration really stands out for its value, should last about five years and run smoothly at 1440p with 144hz. I plan to hold off for up to a month, as the 7800x3d in Spain is now 470€—way more than it was three months ago at 370€. Thanks again, and I’ll keep an eye on prices before making the purchase. How do you feel about GSkill as a good RAM option? And regarding the 4070 Super Ti, would an AMD GPU or a 7800x3d work? Also, I’m thinking of getting an Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB for the CPU and a Corsair RM850x PSU with a Lian Li case. Hope everything checks out well.

7800x3D isn't the best time to buy it, and AMD is actively working to prevent that. If you haven't checked, most listings in the US (except Microcenter) seem to be from untrustworthy third parties with steep markups. Even Microcenter lists them at their original MSRP of $450. Previously, the 7800x3D was selling for $350 or less a few months back, but after the Zen5 release and its underwhelming performance, demand surged. Now the 7800x3D is hard to find unless you're willing to pay a premium. Getting one means you'll likely be overcharged.

Hi GuiltySpark_ , I saw you in a lot of topics talking about the 7800x3d. Ty for the help. Yeah yeah... the prices are crazy right now. My plan is to wait and watch all the weeks for good prices since black friday and all the new stuff are coming right now. I am asking all of you for advice but i will wait for good prices since we all care about the money. My question is if i made good decisions taking in mind all of these components and if they are a good choice or there is another ones better for the money. I want the PC to last like 5 years and dont have problems with bottleneck or something I will resume it here. My plan is to buy all of these in the month coming. CPU: AMD 7800X3d MB: MSI B650 Tomahawk WIFI RAM: G.Skill DDR5 6000 2x16gb CL30 (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR) GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC 16GB GDDR6X PSU: Corsair RM850x AIO: Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 Case: Lian Li Liancool III Ty again.

The 7800X3D pairs excellently with the 4070 Ti Super Nothing. The Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 is more than sufficient for the 7800X3D yet remains affordable, making it my top AIO choice. The RMx series from Corsair is my go-to PSU collection; I regularly use an RMi/x 750w with my 7700x and a boosted RTX 4080. I've tested over 100 of these power supplies in various builds and they consistently perform well. I intend to purchase the upcoming Corsair RM1000X 2024 next month.

Maybe I'll try the RM1000X too... for potential upgrades later. The latest Corsair PSUs are the SHIFT? (RM1000x Shift 80 Plus Gold 1000W ATX 3.0 Modular). Are only the Shift models equipped with the new ATX 3.0 3.1?

I understand, I'm looking for the ATX 3.1 RM1000X model. With these updated power supplies, you can now link the 4000 series GPUs to just one port? That means a single connection to the 12V-2x6? Thanks for your patience.

Everything checks out perfectly. The new 12V-2x6 cable is included for direct GPU connection. It fits the latest model well and bends smoothly without straining the connector. The 4070 Ti Super comes with an adapter like this, allowing compatibility with older power supplies. This is the complete set of cables for the new RMx 3.1 ATX PSUs. The highlighted red cable is specifically for the GPU.
