I haven’t seen any online reviews for the Gigabyte H510M S2H. It’s a budget motherboard, so I’m curious how it would handle 10400F or 11400F. Will it work well with those speeds? Also, is there any issue with using it with an 11400F? Overall, given its low price—about 96 USD from PKR—it might not be the best choice if you’re aiming for Gen4 and only want a step-up path.
It's among the most affordable low-end boards available. It isn't a reliable motherboard. The previous one we tested barely managed a 10400f. Given how similar this one appears, I believe it still performs poorly. It might handle the 10400f temporarily, but it won't sustain high boosts and overall it's a subpar choice.
PCIe Gen 4.0 cards come with a high price tag, but a budget-friendly option is the 120$ B460 AsRock Steel Legend board. I also recommend having a standard SSD since Optane isn't a substitute—it just acts as temporary storage and won't significantly impact performance if your main drive is an HDD. PCIe supports both forward and backward compatibility, so you shouldn't worry about compatibility issues. It's usually safe to push beyond PCIe 3.0 unless you're handling massive data processing tasks like complex simulations or intensive math work, which are typically done by professionals in specialized environments.
