This is actually my first time booting up my new PC. I've noticed that Windows 8.1 was already pre-installed which I did not expect. I have a Z87-G45 gaming motherboard and as I check through the BIOS, there's no secure boot to disable. I want to see a workaround for this so I can install Windows 7. I've already checked through various websites and videos to help me but to no avail. Help is very much appreciated. Thanks guys!

You purchased Windows 7, formatted the drive, and now you want to install it on the new drive.

You're wondering if it's really that straightforward. Some users are suggesting disabling secure boot, which worries me because I don't have it enabled.

When it isn't present, the system treats it as inactive, similar to how rocket launch capabilities are hidden on a motherboard—absent, it appears turned off.

You might prefer a lower version because Windows 8.1 offers better performance and reliability. If Metro isn't your taste, you can turn it off and use the traditional start menu instead.

You might consider downgrading because it seems unnecessary and could be a financial loss.
