I'm experiencing performance challenges in League of Legends. It appears these issues might not be unique to the game, as other titles run smoothly for me. My system specs include an AMD Ryzen 5 2600, Radeon RX Vega 56, 2x 8GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1440p display at 165Hz. The graphics tablet and wireless keyboard work fine, but the main display struggles with lower frame rates. At game start, I see around 100-120 FPS, which is acceptable, but during combat it drops to about 60 FPS. CPU and GPU usage remain low, though the resource monitor shows cores not being heavily utilized. I've tried adjusting settings in the device tab and even swapped out my mouse, but nothing resolves the problem. I don't play many other games, yet they report much higher performance for similar resource demands. Attached are screenshots of the task manager and resource monitor during League sessions.
Windows since 2014 automatically controls which GPU runs, so you should turn off the Radeon Vega in BIOS to avoid issues with games that don’t pick the right GPU (or Windows won’t manage it). Running two displays with different VRFs presents another challenge entirely.
