Hello! Your question is clear. If you're assembling a new computer and have Windows installed on your existing machine, you generally can use the Windows key from that system. However, make sure it's compatible with your new build and that you follow proper installation steps. Let me know if you need more details!

Review the information on the license label. If it mentions iBUYPOWER directly on the label, you may not be able to use it or will need special steps that are often discussed in similar cases. If it's only an OEM product, you can use it without modifications. Note: E: This applies to Win7; I don’t have experience with Win8 or newer versions.

Take a look at that article. It explains how to remove your Windows product key so you can use the license on another machine. Most OEM copies come with the PC and aren’t allowed for this, only retail versions work. I’m open to being corrected—I haven’t purchased a ready-made one yet.

Sometimes it functions (though you need to contact ms). I performed this task on my mom's computer, informed her the motherboard failed, and had to swap it out plus some other components. (Licensense was sourced from a previous Dell build.)
