I'm trying to reinstall Windows 10 to hopefully resolve a problem I've been facing. After doing this multiple times before, I now encounter new errors that weren't there before. It looks like updating Windows reset my BIOS back to version 0.00. Even after updating it again to the newest version, I can't install any LAN drivers and can't connect to the internet. I've already used the latest driver from the manufacturer via USB, but I keep getting another error that seems unresolved. Any advice? Mobo - MSI Z790-A WIFI Version - E7E07IMS.A60

I've never come across Windows installation flashing a BIOS before, but it might be related to a chipset issue. A while back I owned a laptop where the chipset failed, causing USBs, Ethernet, and other ports to stop working. A technician diagnosed it as a chipset problem and attempted a replacement, but they couldn't flash the chipset and the device never worked again. I've tried booting into Linux on a USB to see what functions are available. Consider using Ubuntu or LinuxMint, and use balenaEtcher to create an image. Also, verify that all connected devices appear in the BIOS—such as the mouse, keyboard, and local IP from your router.

Currently, the main problem seems to be missing a network driver. The only option from MSI is for Windows 11, which suggests an upgrade is needed.

Since your motherboard uses an Intel LAN chip, you can simply install the Intel Driver Update Utility (Intel® Driver & Support Assistant) or directly download drivers from the Intel website. For instance, a full package is available here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...-pack.html
