Restarting Windows 8 from an OEM installation
You should be able to set up a fresh Windows installation on your new PC. You have your OEM product key and a Windows 8.1 home disk from your brother, which can help with setup. Make sure you back up any important data before proceeding. Deactivate or uninstall Windows on your current machine if needed, then follow the steps to create a clean installation using the disk you have.
You can download the Windows 8.1 ISO from the provided link and install it during setup. When prompted for a product key, simply enter yours. If the activation remains disabled, contact automated support for assistance.
