Hello, your mom's laptop has a virus, and she wants me to reset it. She doesn't need a product key, right? The free Windows 10 upgrade is already running on her PC. I should just choose "skip product key" during the recovery process. (If you agree, I'll confirm.) Thanks!

No key required; it won't request one during reset.

In reality, formatting completely should work smoothly now since Microsoft keeps your system saved "as the key." I find both this feature and the reset option really helpful. Damn it, I feel like a regular player and enjoy it! JK, I usually sign in with my Microsoft account, so even after swapping major parts like the motherboard, Windows remains functional as long as I stay logged in.

The key is attached to the motherboard using Windows 10, eliminating the need for a physical key. Just tap activate when prompted.
