Previously I applied the Intel update via Windows Update. After restarting, it failed to boot and didn’t reach the login screen. I selected the 'advanced' reinstall option, preserving my files, which completed the process and brought me to the desktop. There remain some items (D&D book PDFs, League of Legends icons) still visible. I installed Steam, but none of my games are present, though disk usage indicates they’re still stored. I’m unsure if there’s a method other than formatting to remove some game files and free space.

You were expecting Windows to handle everything automatically, but it seems it’s keeping all your files in a special folder. You can reorganize or remove them yourself since the new version starts fresh.
